Sea World Touring Plan

Sea-World-Shamu-Stadium

There seems to be a wealth of information and touring plans about all the Disney and Universal parks and very little on Sea World.  Considering half of the attractions at Sea World are shows at select times during the day, it seems a touring plan would be just as important as any other park.  I have provided two example step-by-step plans that are tested and proven effective.

Shorter Plan (Includes Manta and Kraken)

  1. Arrive (9:00 a.m.)
  2. Manta (9:15 a.m., 10 minute wait)
    Very smooth…a great roller coaster!
  3. Blue Horizons Show (10:00 a.m., Dolphin Theater)
  4. Stingray and Dolphin Viewing (On the Way to Turtle Trek)
  5. Turtle Trek (10:50 a.m., 10 minute wait)
  6. Sea-World-Antartica

    Sea World Antartica

  7. Journey to Atlantis (11:20 a.m., No wait – rode twice)
Watch out – definite soak potential!
  8. Antartica (11:50 a.m., 20 minute wait)
While the ride was not impressive, the penguins are worth it at the end.
  9. Lunch (12:20 p.m., Spice Mill Burgers)
  10. Kraken (1:00 p.m., 5 minute wait)
  11. Clyde & Seamore’s Sea Lion High (1:30 p.m., Nautilus Theater)
Our favorite show – don’t miss it!
  12. Shark Encounter (2:10 p.m., No wait)
  13. Wild Arctic (2:40 p.m., 5 minute wait)
  14. Depart (3:00 p.m.)

Longer Plan with Smaller Kids (Excludes Manta and Kraken)

  1. Arrive (9:00 a.m.)
  2. Dolphin Feeding (9:20 a.m., Dolphin Cove)
    Awesome experience!
  3. Sea-World-Dolphin-Feeding

    Petting and feeding the dolphins

  4. Blue Horizons Show (10:00 a.m., Dolphin Theater)
  5. Pets Ahoy (10:45 a.m., Seaport Theater)\
Super cute show for little kids!
  6. Sky Tower (11:20 a.m., 15 minute wait)
  7. Lunch (12:00 p.m., Mango Joes Burgers)
  8. Wild Arctic (12:40 p.m., 15 minute wait)
  9. Shamu’s Happy Harbor (1:10 p.m., Multiple Kid Rides)
  10. One Ocean (2:00 p.m., Shamu Stadium)
Even through seeing Shamu was cool, this was our least favorite show…one of girls even fell asleep.
  11. Shamu’s Happy Harbor (2:40 p.m., Multiple Kid Rides)
  12. Shark Encounter (3:30 p.m., No wait)
  13. Clyde & Seamore’s Sea Lion High (4:00 p.m., Nautilus Theater)
Our favorite show – don’t miss it!
  14. Journey to Atlantis (4:40 p.m., No wait – rode twice)
Watch out – definite soak potential!
  15. Depart (5:15 p.m.)

You could no doubt conquer almost everything at Sea World if you stayed later and planned out your day.  Or take it easy, pick your attractions, and head back to the pool by mid-afternoon.  Either way you do it, have fun!
